1. Resume/Curriculum Vitae

Your objectives, educational background, pertinent apprenticeships, work experience, total yearly scores, and ultimate sum scores for both the 10th and 12th grades are all included in this document. Include information about any tasks you completed while an undergraduate as well as any apprenticeships or full time jobs you held. Any pertinent extracurricular and co-curricular pursuits should also be listed.

2. Passport

The most important document required for studying abroad is your passport. If you don't already have one, apply for one as soon as possible and have it available before arranging your admission examinations. Also, have duplicates of the first and last pages of your passport on available. It is critical that your passport be valid for at least six months after your intended return date.

3. Mark sheets and Pass Certificates

Students must submit duplicates of their relevant mark sheets and pass certificates. For example, Indian students applying for master's programs must provide copies of their 10th, 12th, and all semester mark sheets, as well as passing certificates. Every application requires at least one (often two) sets of copies, all of which must be authenticated.

4. Transcripts

One of the most crucial documents required for students planning to study in US is a transcript from a US institution. A transcript is a detailed record provided by an educational school that gives a student's grade record and in-depth details about the undergraduate classes they successfully completed in a clear and concise manner. Students enrolling in their final year must submit all currently available exam results.

For example, for engineering students, the transcript should include information from semesters 1 through 6. Those applying after finishing their Bachelor's degree should include scores from all years of the Bachelor's program on their transcript.

How many transcripts are required for MS in the United States?

To apply to one university, a student must send a minimum of two versions of their transcript, each of which must be verified by the pertinent institution.

5. Letters of Recommendation

One of the most crucial papers needed when applying to American universities to study in US for both undergraduate and graduate studies is a letter of recommendation (LOR).

LORs must be written by managers or instructors who can briefly describe your skills, experiences, and achievements from education or your work life. In general, it is advised to get at least three recommendations.

While some colleges encourage recommenders to send the letter directly to the graduate admissions department electronically, many universities (especially those offering Master's degrees) need printed copies.

The LOR must be printed on the organization's header paper, sealed inside an official envelope with stamps, and signed on the seal. This is to certify that the letters are private and not shared to the applicant.

6. Entrance Exam Scorecards

Entrance tests are required for admission to institutions in the United States. When applying to institutions, make sure to verify the precise admission exam necessary for the degree you're interested in and have your score available.

Among the most important admission examinations are:

SAT: For undergraduate program applications, almost all colleges in the United States accept SAT results. ACT: Another key exam for undergraduate program applicants in the United States is the ACT. GRE: This exam is required for most MS-level programs in the United States, including Business Management schools. GMAT: This exam is required for admission to business schools in the United States. MCAT: Students who want to study medicine in the United States must take this exam. LSAT: This exam is required for entrance to law schools in the USA.

7. English Proficiency Test Scores

Students from non-English-speaking nations are required to submit their exam results for English language competence. This is important because colleges need assurance that language barriers won't interfere with your education because English is the primary language of teaching in the US. The TOEFL and IELTS are the two most well-known exams of English ability.

To send your GRE/GMAT/SAT and TOEFL/IELTS scores to universities, you can use the ETS website. Additionally, keeping a few copies of your scores for personal record-keeping is also recommended.

8. Statement of Purpose

The procedures for submitting a Statement of Purpose (SOP) vary by university that you want to study in US. If you are sending the SOP through courier, be sure you print it on high quality paper with a header that includes your name, user ID, and the program you are applying for. The ideal font size and spacing requirements are usually specified on the institution website.

9. Work Experience Letters

It is critical to add letters of experience from relevant organizations if you have done an internship or have employment experience.

10. Application Confirmation Copy

After submitting your registration and paying the required fee online, you will receive a proof email and be directed to a confirmation page. As proof of application, a duplicate of one of the two is needed. Copies of any awards for prizes, involvement, voluntary work, technical papers, or written pieces should also be included.

11. Essays

Several American institutions may ask candidates to write an essay as part of the admission process. The essay topic may be chosen at random or may reflect the candidate's interest in the program or field of study. Universities often require one to three essays.

12 .Proof of Funds

Having proof of financial assistance is a requirement for learning in the US. Universities use it to determine your potential for financial aid or grants as well as your capacity to pay for your education. Some schools may require a bank statement declaration, in which case a document from your bank outlining your finances is required. A loan letter is not necessary because schools do not need to be aware of your school loan application; however, the bank account must be verified by the same bank.

13 .Research Proposal / Portfolio / Project Description

For specialized programs, some colleges in the United States may ask students to submit supplementary papers such as a Research Proposal, Portfolio, or Project Synopsis. For research-based programs such as PhD and post-doctoral degrees, research proposals are necessary. A project description is a document that is required for Masters Degrees in research where writing a thesis is often required.Portfolios are required for admission to Masters Programs in the arts, design, and architecture. They assist institutions in determining an applicant's experience and talent in their field of study.

14. Certificates for Extra-Curricular Activities

Including certificates supporting your extracurricular activities can enhance the attractiveness of your college or university application. Therefore, if you excel in any such activities, be sure to attach the relevant certificates.

All of the following papers should be included in your application package. Pack them carefully in a green-threaded cover, as courier regulations may differ depending on the university. Check the university's website for the list of prerequisites before sending out any superfluous paperworks.
